I grew up in Florida where I never saw snow, the northern lights, or mountains. After I graduated high school, I pursued civil engineering. I successfully completed calculus I, II, III, differential equations, general physics I, II, and general chemistry all while working full-time and living on my own.
I changed my major and subsequently graduated the University of Central Florida with a bachelor’s degree in legal studies. I attended law school at the height of COVID-19 but remained in-person and studious through that challenging time.
I graduated law school with my Doctor of Jurisprudence in the top half of my class from Liberty University School of Law. I passed the South Dakota Bar exam in the 90th percentile of the nation. I was hired by Presiding Judge Michael W. Day of South Dakota’s Fourth Judicial Circuit to be his law clerk.
As a law clerk, I tailored my knowledge of the law to the needs of South Dakota by assisting and ensuring each circuit or magistrate judge ruled in a manner consistent with the law. My life experience through hard work, effectively managing my time, and prospectively planning for the future reflects the South Dakota values I hold dear.
My extensive legal education and training have equipped me with the skills necessary to handle complex legal issues with precision and care. I believe in thorough preparation, honest assessment, and strong advocacy, ensuring that your interests are protected at all times. My practice is built on a foundation of integrity, professionalism, and a genuine commitment to helping you achieve your legal goals. I am also honored to have been sworn into the U.S. District Court for the District of South Dakota, further enhancing my ability to advocate for you in federal matters.
